As part of The Grip Project, we set out to re-design hearing aids in a low-tech alternative to the traditional medical device.
Through the application of craft and additive manufacturing we were able to re-imagine this technology as a piece of jewellery.
By empathizing with the wearer and their desire for a cost-effective non-medical alternative, we were able to create the Earshell: a sleek geometric sound enhancement tool. To store the Earshell we also created a resin and 3D printed container taking cues from ceramics, making it appropriate for display in the home.
